A much needed update

These past few months it seems our family has been very busy with life. After the last benefit in September we tried focusing on more different events. Angelo is homeschooled and started Kindergarten this year which keeps us very busy during the day. We got through the holidays and the new year and though it is now spring, we still are waiting patiently for the day we get a call from the hospital.
Back in November, we did spend a few days in Pittsburgh for Angelo’s follow up appointments and we will be going again sometime soon here in the spring. His doctor’s do remain positive about waiting for that new organ to come someday, and even though it still hasn’t happened yet, they reminded us to be ready at any time. Though Angelo is hopeful that he will be healed soon, he is still extremely itchy and irritable which adds a lot of stress especially to him and to our family which can make the wait seem perpetual at times.
We would just like to thank a few more people that continued to help us these past few months while we wait.
We would like to thank the Bangor Nazarene Church of Bangor, Maine for their very generous gift from their own fundraiser back in October to help Angelo and our family.
We would like to thank the MCC paramedic class of 2012 this year for donating some of their funds to our cause as well.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and please continue to remember us in your prayers as well.

September Benefit a HUGE Success!

Our family would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who made this benefit a HUGE success! Thank you to all the supporters who donated their services/products. Thank you to all our friends and family, the wonderful people who helped us put this benefit together. Additionally, we would like to thank all of the people who came out, to show their support. We are currently more than half way to our original goal. Your financial support for Angelo in his time of need has been humbling, but what has been truly amazing, is the overwhelming compassion that has been shown to our family. Once again, thank you.

Moved up on the List!

Pittsburgh called us this morning and informed us that Angelo’s appeals went through and he has been moved up on the transplant list. Yeah! This means that we could literally go at any time! How are we feeling? A little nervous, scared, excited but we are ready to go. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Officially Listed on the Transplant List June 14th, 2011

Hello and thank you again for visiting our website!  I just wanted you all to know that Angelo has been officially listed as of June 14th, 2011 and we are waiting patiently for Angelo to receive his new liver.  Though we have not heard from Pittsburgh yet, and the wait is difficult, there have been a few things keeping us busy.

Matt is a co-host of Rick Russotti’s podcast, Mitigation Journal, and this week they did a special recording dedicated to Angelo and the personal story our family has gone through to obtain Angelo’s diagnosis.  Many thanks to them for helping us get the word out! If you would like to listen to this podcast go to:

And most of all, I would like to thank Hennrietta Ambulance and their wonderful members who did their own matching fundraiser this month.  Their generosity and support is greatly appreciated! They are like family to us and have been so supportive of Matt and our family during these difficult times.  Once again, thank you all!
